This Appendix to our Privacy Policy pertain to information we gather and how we use it,
and is to be treated as an extension to our Privacy Policy. The complete Privacy Policy
shall be made available from Showers of Blessing Evangelistic Ministry (SOBEM) Toronto
headquarters upon written request.
Confidentiality and Security
We limit access to personal
information about visitors to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into
contact with that information to provide services to you or in order to do their jobs.
We use password protocols and
encryption software to protect personal and other information we receive when a gospel
tools, service, or donation is requested and/or made online. Our security and
privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary.
Website and Electronic Online
Transaction
Information SOBEM gathers through
aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page views throughout our
sites. This information allows us to better tailor our content to our audience's needs and
to gain better understand the demographics of our audience.
Though visitors do not need to register to visit our website, registration is necessary to
receive our electronic newsletters, to participate in our forums, and from make donation
online. During registration the user is asked to supply an email address, First and
Last names, a contact number, and a password.
Electronic Newsletter. We will offer
a free electronic newsletter to users. SOBEM gathers the email addresses of users who
voluntarily subscribe. Users may remove themselves from this mailing list by selecting the
appropriate option in the “SOBEM Friend Info” page. SOBEM also adhere to the
industry “opt-in” standard.
Blog / Forum. Users of the site's
Blog and Forum functions must be registered in order to use the services (which are free
of charge) to post or respond to messages.
Chats. Users of the site's Chat
function do not need to be registered to use such function. This is intentionally done to
maintain confidentiality of the SOBEM Life Care Hotline
Donation. As a security precaution,
it is necessary to insist upon visitors to be registered before donation can be made.
Information entered from the registration will be used to complete the online donation
transactions.
Cookies
We may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of your
computer. The cookie itself does not contain personal information although it will enable
us to relate your use of this site to information that you have specifically and knowingly
provided. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply
yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by
other sites. SOBEM uses cookies to track user traffic patterns (as mentioned above).
You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. If you've set your browser to
warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie.
You do not need to have cookies turned on to use this site. However, you do need cookies
to visit or enable functions that require registration as outlined above.
Internet Protocol (I.P.) Address
Certain functions within the website rely on the IP Addresses of visitors to filter out
information that are not relevant to the visitor based on the associated geographical
location to the said IP Address. SOBEM will not record such address on or off our website.
Your Consent

information by SOBEM. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we
use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.
